Your really going to love that 5 spd behind the 292. I put the same setup in my '65 pickup and I just love driving it. Also P/S; power disc brakes, headers, aluminum intake with a quadrajet and HEI. Nice dependable set up

Nice dependable set up Thanks! I hoping this tremec does well. I got the close ratio tranny with the .82 od. Way I build the engine this should be a good match.

Well guys I haven't done much with the 66 lately. Since the engine and tranny are on the frame I now have the body to start working on. That will be starting soon. Lotta work ahead. Here's an update from last year. haha https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KvkT9ccWimg

I just watched your video. Everything looks pristine! Also, is the Tremec just mounted off of the bellhousing only or ? I didn't see a rear crossmember mount.

Thank you for the response. I seem to remember since the trucks have the bellhousing crossmember, it is a difficult situation to put in a third crossmember and get the driveline angle right and things not be in a bind. Something like that. Have you heard of anything like that?
Just for my peace of mind, I wouldn't want to install it without a trans crossmember either but I know the factory cast iron ones weren't. I wished I could remember what I heard/read about that.

The third member is fairly simple from what I know, I'm going to make my own and leave the tranny as it sits now. Because the engine doesn't have a TON of torque I probably don't Need one, but if I ever want to light the tires off it's just that much more preventative. lol

Well, theres that and it just seems weird to me to leave a transmission that long hanging off the bell with no support. I could see the transmission ears breaking if the conditions were right.
