I found another crack in my 235 oil pan. I have to drop it again. This time I want to replace the front and rear seals as well. I have no clue how to do this. And I want to do it right the 1st time. SICK and TIRED of oil all under my truck. I have replaced everything else but the seals.
This includes valve cover gasket, pushrod cover gasket. There is no leaking at these points.

The first thing to do is find out what is leaking.

Put a piece of clean cardboard under the engine when you first park it. Look & see an hour later.

Good luck, John M......

Oh I found the leak. It's a crack just under the drain plug.
I need advice on how to replace the seals. I'm going to drop the pan again Sunday afternoon.
Thanks

garretthes, You can change the seals while the motor is in your very nice suburban, but it requires that you loosen the mains and rods and slightly drop the crank for clearance to be able to slide the new seals in. I suggest you follow the manual instructions if you have access to one.

The manual is not clear on a few things. I'm assuming the tranny has to be removed to replace the rear seal.

Dear Mr. Garretthes;

Replacing these seals is not a job for a novice.

It should only be done if they drip when the engine is running. Perhaps a large puddle after, would be the exception.

You should really get someone to help you that can be there at the time and has done it in the past.

Good luck, John M...
