292 cu in inline 6 cyl Chev engine, Hey eveybody, does anyone know if this motor is a direct swap for my 54 pontiac 239? I have found a rebuilt one which would save me some money and time and want to know if anyone knows if this will match up with my tranny or not.
Thanks Mark

So am I dreaming if I am looking for a motor to bolt straight up to my tranny? will anything work other than another pontiac motor?
Hey John, I have worked late every night this week, I haven't had a chance to check anything out on the car unfortunately.

M;
Check with Chuck (EVIL235)as he might know.
The problem is that to convert you'll spend several times what it will take to fix the engine you have.
