How much valve lift will a 250 Chevy with 307
pistons handle? I know there are variables with
cam design. I would like a general idea.

Thanks
Gordy
P.S. This would be with .010 deck height and .043 head gasket, will probably mill the head
some,but not much.

I run a cam that has .580 lift w/248 degrees duration @ .050.
Looks Like I have a mile of room still to go w/more lift.
I have 307 pistons in my engine.

You want to keep at least .100 clearance between the top of the piston and the Valve. If your checking this at home your self Get you some clay. Put it on the of the piston and turn the motor over The check the clay thickness.
