Ok, I forgot. It's been awhile since I took this engine apart and now I'm trying to put it back together. I have the engine upside down and slid the oil pump into it's place, but what holds it there? Also, there is a fitting on the oposite side of the block that looks like a line should go from the oil pump to this fitting. If there is a line that goes there, can I buy this line at any auto parts store, and what is it called?

The engine is a 1958 Chevrolet 235.

there's a set screw with a cone shaped end. there's a threaded hole in the thing that you pushed the oil pump into. you have to have the oil pump turned just right because there's a hole in it for the cone shaped ( tapered ) end of the set screw to fit in.

There is a jam nut on the tapered bolt that retains the oil pump. Get it aligned properly, screw in the retaining bolt and lock the jam nut.
