Have a 1965 Chevy (C-10) w/ 292 six. Have two cyclinders that's compression has dropped ta' 30lbs, all others are up to "snuff". Engine run's fine. Question: Is this a sign of headgasket problems,OR??? Any input is greatly appreciated. Pre-thanks, ta' all.

Did you check it twice to make sure you turned over the engine enough times to get a correct reading?

Are these two cylinders next to each other?

Is there any pinging or missing under load?

Did you squirt any oil in the cylinders prior to testing?

Have you tried a vac gage on the intake to see if you get an erratic reading?

Have you lost any coolant?

What was going on that made you decide to check the compression?

gearhead,
Decision to check the compression was done by a mechanic that I deal with (I took it in for a tune up). I don't loose any coolent and no there is not any pingin', nor missing under load. As far as the rest of your questions I don't have answers, but will definately check back with the mechanic to see if he preformed these. I thank you for the come-back. Keepin' my fingers crossed about the headgasket. Will close this NOVEL and get back with ya' once I get some answers. To reiterate I thank ya'. Have a good one. Outta here... ~ Skip
