Any problems with boring the 235 block to .80 over? Thanks. ron

i've heard of overbores larger than that on 235s/261s, but just to be extra safe, i'd have the cylinders checked for core shift, with the sonic testing available at a good machine shop.

Maybe I'll go with another block; leave a litte to rebuild down the line for the old truck. Thanks #12.

Dear Ron; A +.125" over stock is okay on all the 'early' 216,235,261 engines and the best way to get the extra power from them etc. Good luck.

My block was checked out, and I bored it .080 over. It worked out fine so far. The main thing to look for is that the cylinder walls arent rusty on the outside (inside the water jacket). Mine was bored .060 when I got it, and I still have another rebuildable thikness if need be.
