A buddy gave me a Crane Cam XR-700 HEI ignition--will I have a problem using this on a 261?? Can't find any info that would suggest a problem, but I'm new and so often find problems where none should exist--!

What spark plugs recommended with this ignition system?

I am using the same ignition on my Nova and use AC 4 plugs. No problems with my set up.

1964 Nova 194 cu in 0.030" over pistons, 390 cfm holley, heated clifford intake, Crane Hi-lift cam p/n 20451, headers & flowmaster

I really like those little Nova's--and sounds like you have a sweet setup. Still working on mine (53 Chev 3/4 T., 5-speed 390 gears), starts and runs, but not a driver yet. I'll get there!

tk261, Hi You need to go to the SEARCH button at the top of this page. I beleive there are some mods you need to make for a late HEI to fit the 261. Type in HEI for 261. Any ?'s their is an electrical catagory you can use also on the main topic page.
