I can't find a match for my fuel pump at the parts stores. Judging by the milling surface on the engine block, I doubt that this is the original pump for my 302, but it worked OK for awhile. I believe the engine is a 1954 or 55 civilian model.

KEM 4452 is stamped on the top of the wide flange enclosing the diaphram, but the stores cannot find a match.

The diaphram is 4" in diameter and the pump as a whole is about 5" tall. The clean-out bowl below the diaphram is metal.

If I cant find a new or reman. is there somewhere I can sent it to have it rebuilt. It has been rebuilt before per an ink stamp on the pump.

Thanks for the help

Fuel pump rebuilders advertise under "services" in Hemmings Motor News. You might also try an inquiry at

http://www.oldgmctrucks.com/

Those of us using military blocks are consigned to electric fuel pumps, and that is another possibility for you.

God's Peace to you.

Supposedly the Chevy 261 fuel pump fits the 302, I think that is what Tony P is running. I have one (a '55 302 and a 261 pump) but I haven't tried it out yet.

Thanks all, I appreciate the help. I actually found a rebuilt pump on ebay from Ageless Auto Parts thanks to a poster from OldGMCtrucks.com.

Here's a link to the discussion on that forum if you need more info.

Thanks again.

Yes,a 216-261 Chevy fuel pump will fit on a 302 GMC,although the pump fuel fittings may be in a different location and not too say all pumps will have the proper fuel psi or volume.
I use a common late 50's 235 pump on a modified 302 ,no problems.
