Has anyone used this adapter? Did you run into any problems with it? I'd like to run a 200R4 behind a 248. Has anyone tried the Buffalo adapter?

I got an adapter from Buffalo. Fits up nicely. I have it behind a 302 with a GM cast iron bellhousing with factory angled mounts on the bellhousing(factory.) The transmission is a NP 540-but the transmission doesn't matter. It has not run much but will get more when the tin work is done. Great way to get a modern starter and transmission. Make sure to dial indicate to make sure everything lines up. .005 +/- is max runout.

Stovebolt makes only the Chev 235/261 adapters. They sell the GMC stuff, but it's made by Buffal0. Never heard of a problem with anything from Buffalo.

Ed, a dumb question. Why did you go to all that expense and trouble to get the same thing as the stock bellhousing?? Joe

Joe, I wanted to be able to use a modern starter. I wanted to use the late bellhousing attach rather than have to take off the clutch and flywheel every time just to remove the bellhousing. I didn't know I could find a GMC bellhousing w/ the slanted mounting pads. I guess those are the main reasons. I guess we all have to learn this stuff as we go along.
