Does anyone know if anybody makes a single air cleaner to fit over a pair of single barrel carbs on a chevy 235? I am using an Offy manifold, and would love to have a nice long air cleaner to fit over both carbs.

Thanks!

Hi Tony - The only multi-carb air cleaner that I've seen was one custom made by an Inliner many years ago (Sorry, don't remember the issue). He did, however, use a K & N air filter No. E2960 that is 24 inches long, 5+ wide and 2+ high. The K&N website has a page where you can input dimensions and get nearest sizes. The oval filter is Type F. Find a distibutor (I've used Martel Racing) to get the lowest price - still will cost a bit.

Check with Larrowe & Sons (12 Port Advertisers) Seems like one of their old catalogs had what you describe. Also try O'Brien Truckers in Mass 508-248-1555, no known web site...Good luck

Hi

While I owned Stovebolt I made a billet air cleaned using a K&N filter. Tom got the fixture plates and programs but I don't know for sure if he is still making them so you may want to get hold of him.

Tony,

I made mine out of a oval aircleaner off of a mid 80's Ford Escort.

You can see a picture of it here,
http://www.geocities.com/mustang_man_1966/inline_6_carburation.html

It's the dual carb setup about halfway down the page. The top was aluminum so I just stripped the paint off it and gave it a good polish and the bottom I cut off and riveted a new piece of aluminum sheet to it.

Then I just cut the 2 carb hole openings and attached the dual snorkels to it.

Worked for me and was dirt cheap!!

Later,

Doug
