In my stash I have two crankshafts. Does anyone have a casting number book for the following casting numbers so I can tell what engine they go with or the stroke:

2194570 6 bolt pattern

2191127 AH 4 bolt pattern

Thanks,

Hi Ed,
My Federal-Mogul book shows that both cranks have a stroke of 3 13/16, which goes with the 228 or 248 engine (or you could destroke a 270 as some people used to do). I can fax or send a copy of the page if you'll e-mail me your number or address.

That agrees with the listing in our "casting numbers" page. Of course, that page is a copy of information from the "12 Port News" which first appeared in 1983 - and was submitted by none other than Ron Dettling (Rondet) - Inliner #108. Ron, thanks for keeping us inline with the GMC "numbers game".

Thank you Jack, for your comments. It seems unbelievable that so much time has passed - and also that Inliners has become and continues to be the extremely dynamic and versatile group that the founders (and early members) could hardly have imagined. I am pleased and proud to be an Inliner, and who knows, sometime in the near future, my 1950 GMC PU project may be completed. A most happy and prosperous New Year to us all.
Ron
