Found a dual intake in a salvage yard--how can I identify the manifold to know if it will fit a 216 or 235/261? What should I look for? Just under a tarp at the salvage yard, so not much help there.
Thanks for any info--

Get some pictures of it if they will let you. So we can see them.Or if you have a stock intake Take it with you to match up the runners.

That will work. The 216" ports are smaller & those mainfolds won't fit the 'later' 235/261 heads W/O midification. What engine is it on now?? If It's on a 'later' 55-62 it will fit. If It's on a 216 (large sideplate) you'll need to measure as the larger will fit over the smaller. Clear as mud, right?? Have fun!

Thanks for all the responses--was hoping for some identifying numbers or something easy. Right. Can't get more info on it yet but will check back on it when time permits.
Thanks...

I might be wrong here, but if the carb studs are 2 11/16 apart its probably for a 216. If they are 2 15/16 apart its probably for a later 235. (Can someone confirm this?) The 216 manifold will fit a 235 but there are a few mods to be done.

Our friend from "down under" is correct, try that (measure the studs) on the carbs. Don't forget, it could be a moditied 216 manifold on a later engine. Side plate size is the real test. Good luck.
