Fellows,
At once a friend of mine installed a 350 chevy damper on a 250. Required some machining to the part, but as long as the inertia ring was not subject to the effort of pulling water pump, a/c p/s etc... we both imagined it would be a nice feature, and a longer damper life once the engine was meant to rev high. Been browsing the Leo Santucci book and found no reference on it, what do You say, Fellows?

I had looked into a fluidampr for my 250, and someone from there was able to e-mail me a drawing of the mods required to make a 350 balancer fit. Check with their tech support for the drawing

The after market doesn't realy have one for use The fisher Dampener I ran didn't need any Mod made to. And fluid, ATI(like I'm going to useing now) or any other Vthing dampener will need to be machined a 1/4in Or you must machine the crank gear that much so the dampener sitts all the way back where it should be. Plus some changes to the water pump pulley may be needed as well. And You will also have to add a pulley to the dampener. Because the Vthings do not have grooves like our L6 dampeners do. BUT fisher Does Make a dampener Now for Our L6s that does have the grooves. This is NOT a race ****pener But For STREET USE ONLY. It is Not big enough in diameter for HIGH RPM harmonics. Hope this helps. }[oooooo] Ps The added benifit of machining the Crank gear is you will now have TWO keys Holding the dampener not just the one.

Craig, Thanks.
Larry,
Altering the water pumpp/alternator/power steering is no issue. The deal is get rid of the flying inertia ring! Since You all can see no problem in using the v8 damper as for harmonics, that's ok to me! Yes, i'll cut the crank gear 1/4 to make the damper ride on the 2 keys. Will also drill and tap the crank nose for a 7/16 NF 20 X 2 1/4 steel bolt to make sure it's really tight there. This engine will see street use into a Chevy Opala, a Brazilian built Opel from the 60, looks like a 68 Nova, just smaller. It's a SS version, the license plates reads 4100 (the way we refer to these engines here, 250CID equals 4100cubic centimeters) so looks cool! 270' hyd cam, headders, bigger intake valves, clifford intake, some carbs to choose from, 210cfm 2bbl holley, 350cfm holley and a 390cfm nascar double pumper. Thanks!

Can someone provide contact information for Fisher Dampers? In particular, the non-racing one Larry mentions.

Can be found by searching: Fisher Concepts. Opens up to Vector Dampers web page, click automotive sidebar on the left. Scrolling down the small block Chevy section shows eight 6 cyl selections in this box. Gives phone # and a E-mail for questions/info/prices etc.
