I was talking to some dragracers who showed me pictures of their cars past and present. One thing I noticed is a lot of guys used to name their cars.(some still do)
In light of that, I thought a name on the side of my digger when it's built would be cool. However, what would be appropriate?
Who has some good names they've heard of or have thought of?
I've seen "buzzin half dozen", "six pack" etc, anybody have any more?

I think a quirky six cylinder reference is cool, however, if "tailgunner" has some meaning to you, I'd vote for "tailgunner".

or

"inline enforcer"

I like tailgunner. You could paint the car like a WWII bomber with faux shadow rivets and seams and airbrush the rear to resemble a Plexiglas canopy with twin 50's sticking out the back. Contact RapRap - he is a designer. He might be able to do a computer rendering.

Still shopping for a new chassis? I know a good chassis man in Ohio. Advanced Chassis, Antwerp OH, 419-258-2100.

I agree with what TFF said. Tailgunner is a cool name and I think that would be a sick ride to make it look like WWII bomber. That would be an awesome ride to have the name really mean something as to what the car looks like. Good Luck \:\) Figuring out a name is harder than the build I think ;\)

Hey, If you are going to use a wheelie bar you could wrap the bar with a piece of perforated polished stainless steel tubing and a few rounds of an ammunition clip belt hanging off of it. And one of those "Remove Before Flight" ribbons in the chute pack. OOooo and some pin-up girl nose art! Do it!

In the '60s drag cars had cool, clever names on the side.

In the '70s they had owners / drivers names on the side.

In the '80s they had sponsors names on the side.

In the '90s they had dot.com names on the side.

Let's get back to clever.

I think that it was the Lockheed P-38 Lightning that introduced this 'world of hurt' in the nose. But it was in fact four .50 caliber machine guns and two twenty millimeter cannons on the business end of things! All this armament was deployed on a twin engine airframe with long range, awesome rate of climb and great maneuverability that made for an excellent fighter package.

Tailgunner is appropriate if you consider the drivers location in the early FEDs. I'm sure tailgunner had this in mind when he thought of it, no?

Probably, it is real cool name. If I was gonna be doing a dragster (and I know they ain't cheap to build the right way) I would definitely take my time to make it stand out like this. It would be killer to have the amunition belts on there...that rocks!!!

Hmmm, what to name your dragster? Names, names. What's in a name anyway? Names tell us a lot about the character of someone, or some-thing....whatever you do,make sure it's something you can live with, and be proud of.Oh yeah, one last thing, whatever you decide on,just make sure you don't name it "NUTHIN' FANCY"....that's the name I picked for my truck.(copyright 2000)

I'd have to agree with the tailgunner.
My SS64 chevyII Is named the Twisted6 for The parts it has Twisted apart over the years. and How many people run a 3x4 intake system for many This is Pretty Twisted, It's also Twisted up 31 splind axles. It's also magenta & Purple with 3 Neon strips. So the name has stuck with the Car. My Buddies car is named Lil Thunder. We are slowly Working on Building another ChevyII Gasser straight axled car with a L6 and No dout maybe Named Twisted Thunder when it's all said an done.

My **** computer crashed and I lost 2 months of work!!!!! I got some of it back from saved plans at work, but the final copies were on my work pc at home. ****!! >note to self, back up your back ups<

Actually tailgunner was what they were referred to in the old days, and from input on here, I think it might stay now.
Primer black with Betty Boop on the sides...I think I like that, the wheelie bars and all might be a bit much but the paint would be cool. I have a designer here that I can entice very easily. He does aircraft, however I think this would offer new "creativity" for him.
Thanks all.
I've decided on the chassis builder, and the engine has gone to get freshened up or redone, whatever is required. Tranny's done, took three days. This will be my Christmas present to me! haha

How about "Six Appeal" for a name.
