I did this on my 69 C-10 (v8)
It bolts up like a TH350.
You'll have to move the trans crossmember back a couple of inches and shorten the driveshaft.
One of the yards around her in Ft. Worth has a dumpster full of driveshafts. Last time I needed one I rummaged through it till I found one the right length with GM-sized u-joint thingies. Got it for $20. Check your yards.

The stock column shifter will work except for a slight "adjustment" to the shift arm on the trans.

For the tv cable hookup ........
I got nothin.
You're on your own there.
However, TCI has a mod for the 700R4 that makes poor TV cable hookup less dangerous for the trans. I'd recommend it if your going to experiment.

regards,
Leon

As for the flexplate, if you have an automatic behind it now, the current flexplate should be fine. If starting from scratch, any '70's or early '80's flexplate from an L6 or internally balanced 2 piece rear mainseal V8 (not 400 or 454) will work, but you need to know if you want 153 or 168 teeth. Note that the starter bolts up differently between the two.

Any starter with the staggered bolts should work.

For the throttle valve cable, depending on what carb you are using, you might want to check out http://www.phoenixtrans.com as they now have kits for Edelbrock and a couple of other carbs to get the proper amount of adjustment. S
