Has anybody tried running a Holley pro-jection setup on a 250 before? I have a 250 I am planning on using as a rockcrawling motor and I am getting holley projection kit to adapt to it somehow. It is a 250 out of a 1970 C10 pickup. The main question is how do I adapt the throttle body to a 1 barrel intake? Or do I need to get a 4brl intake? If so where do I get one for a decent price? http://holley.com/502-20S.aspHas anybody run this setup on a 250 before? How did it run and anything you recommend? Thanks Harley

Was there ever a 250 or 292 that came with a factory 2brl manifold that I could adapt this Holley setup too? I am on a super tight budget with my crawler and $350-400 for a manifold puts a huge dent in the budget. The budget is basically $3000 to get a 1 ton rock crawler built, running, and wheeling. Upgrades will come as more money comes but until then I gotta work around the budget.

They made two barrel manifolds in Brazil, cast iron.
That is the only place I know of.

I've intalled and helped tune an SDS setup. Reasonably easy. But if you're that tight on the budget you might check out Marc's B-Ville EFI swap thread, as that's likely going to be cheaper than the Holley. I see the Offy (and Clifford's) manifolds on Ebay from time to time, usually for less than retail (sometimes not though ). That SDS definetly looks like one of the older ones (punchbuttons on the controller). If anyone gets it you should get in touch with SDS (after you recieve the unit) and see what it would cost to have it updated to current spec. They have upgraded capabilities on those a ton in the last 4 years that I know of, and they had the new tuning box at that point.
My, what a steep learning curve. Erik II#5155

I have already purchased a holley setup used for $300 shipped which is a great price to get an FI setup complete with the pump, wiring, comp, tb, etc. so I am set on having to adapt the Holley to my 250.

J C Whittney or Jegs Around $259 new I think, depending what you pick. I would suggest a dual plane for low RPM crawling.

I think the old SP2P is the only dual plain manifold from Edelbrock.????? 194-292
It is a one barrel replacement manifold.

Ah yes, one in the hand and all.
Yes, that sounds like a good price to me.

I wonder if this adapter could be made to work? http://www.stoveboltengineco.com/acartpro/product.asp?productid=91Harley

Are those adapters cast? Can they be welded too? I could probably cut the 2brl flange off and weld on new flange that matches the throttle body if it isn't crappy cast pot metal.

I think they are cast and I'll try to verify that tomorrow but be patient as I have it carefully packed away chronologicly (read; bottom of the pile!). In the mean time, why not think about fabbing one up using your gaskets to shape the flanges and connecting them with something looking liked a 'squashed funnel'. maybe formed from flat sheet or a couple pieces of exhaust pipe cut, split, shaped, and welded orienting your TB the way YOU want it.

Once the holley shows up I am gonna take the manifold and TB into close inspection. I might have to employ the services of my machinist buddy to help me fab up a adapter and hog out the stock manifold hole some to get at least a little more flow. Or just keep searching for a used cheap 4brl manifold.

Found it and it appears to be cast aluminum. If the base of that TB is much larger than the Holley/Weber base, and you have a machinist buddy, you might be better off starting off from a scratch or either making an adapter plate for the adapter!
