Am I correct that Chevy intakes will not fit a GMC head? I seem to remember that being the case. I'm having a heckuva time finding a performance intake for my 270.

Thanks.

Your correct, not only is the intake port spacing different, but the alignment ring diameter and port diameter is much bigger on the GMC's. Patrick's offers a multi-carb intake for the GMC's if that is an option for you....

You are correct. Different critters. Try Dave at 29mdla@tx.rr.com , he had 1 or 2 at the Hot August Nites Swap Meet.

Also just looked at Tom Langdon's web site http://www.stoveboltengineco.com and he has a GMC intake listed in his "other" section

When you say 'performance intake' what are you looking for?

Multi carb down draft?

Single 4V, multi 4V?

Side draft (SU, Corvette Carters, Webbers)?

I've seen at leat one of each (except the SU setup, but I've heard of it).

I have a 50s-era "stock car" that I have restored as a car I watched race in my youth. However, I am told the original had a four-holer and mine, at present, is stock. I've built a split-manifold for it,but would love to put a four-barrel on it as well.
