i am just about to rebuild my motor and was wonder if i could use the two stock carbs for a 235 to run a dual intake manifold set up? or do i need to order different carbs? i plan on buying the OFFENHAUSER intake manifold. is that a good one or should i go with a different brand?

its a long road, but well worth it.

The stock carbs are slightly too big for best response and mileage (unless the engine is equipped with a cam, higher compression etc.). The next smaller similar carbs (like from a 216) are a better choice. The common manifolds have been discussed quite a bit, try a search.

biscayne is a big old car, are you opposed to swapping in a 292?

my fear, your gonna be real disappointed if whats driving you is the rumble of the old 327v-8.

Yah - don't fall into the trap of adding money in chunks and waiting for the big power - won't happen.
Easiest: swap in a 261, it's only 11% bigger but it's significant.
A Gen-3 (292 etc.) is more work, but of course not only bigger but weighs less.

hey thanks ill try to see if i can find a 261 in it. I know im not going to see the same results as a 327 so im not really getting my hope up lol i would just like to try and get the most horse power out of what i have, but if a 261 is more ideal then why not! I really appreciate the info though and will look more into it this weekend and see what i can find, thanks again!

Take a country ride on them Texas backroads and watch whats behind and beside or peaking out of them. Ifyou can find a 62 or earlier 2 ton grain or livestock truck that the rancher has put to pasture offer to take it of his hands. I bought a 62 w/261 rebuilt with few thousand miles- got a good 261 and while steel was high got what I gave for the truck for scrap price. Yes I'm cheap!!!! 1 OL REDNECK
