I have a 35 Standard Coupe with a 235 engine,4spd Saginaw trans, and a Ford 8 inch rear axle. What I don't have is hydraulic front brakes.I wanted to put a disc brake package on my stock solid axle, but nobody makes that package for 33-36 Standards because of the "light duty spindles and kingpins". My stock axle is 28 inches between spring centers. Does anyone know of a solid Chevy axle that is 28 inches between spring centers and has standard duty spindles? I'm trying to avoid an entire Heidt front chassis replacement if possible. I plan to use my original wire wheels.

I used to run a narrowed and dropped 1957 Chevy pickup axle in my 1935 Chevy Standard. I don't know if anyone makes a disc setup for it, but I think the wheels bolt on.

41-54 half ton pick up axles will work. I think I have a dropped 32 axle in the garage of you need that. PM me

Apparently, the axle I need would come from a 37-39 Chevy Standard passenger Car. The key dimension for an exact fit is 28 inches from spring center to spring center. Thanks for your help. Don

Another option might be to drill out the kingpin boss and use the 41-59 chevy truck kingpins and spindles.

just for reference: http://www.droppedaxles.com and check the tech articles for chevy axles and spindles. its probably more than you ever wanted to know about them
