I drive a 250 Chevy w/500cfm Edelbrock, it runs and idles great. But sometimes after it's warmed up (maybe 20 minutes)it will stall at a "quick" stop. Then it needs to sit briefly and then full pedal until it finely restarts, then she runs fine again. My machinist suggested maybe a Dash Pot.

Anybody have experience with these and which one or type is recommended?

Other suggestions?

Probably check your float level in the carb. Could need adjustment.
Which way is your carb facing, FWD. or sideways?

What is the fuel pressure? Stock fuel pump?

Carb is sideways. I've checked the pump pressure but I honestly can't remember exactly what it was. I remember it checked OK though. I can do it again. It is a stock pump.

I bet if you install the carb fwd, the stalling will stop.

An old racer trick was to put fuel cell foam inside the carb bowl to dampen sloshing. Just had to make sure it never gets tangled up with the float. Doesn't work well with small bowls that are almost completely occupied by the float. Just a curiosity, probably won't work for you....

Check the float level, any other adjustments are a wasted effort until it's set right.

Buzz...What make you say that turning the carb 90 degrees will solve the problem? I'll try most anything, but it did work just fine for four or five years before this trouble.
Thanks for the input.

Certain carbs work better fwd than if they are installed sideways.

If you did not have a problem 4-5 years, then I would not install it forwards.

Must be something else.
