I realize it is partially insane to have to ask some adapter company about mating two chevy parts that should just bolt together, but some of the best folks I know of in this department are the ones from Advance Adapters in Paso Robles ca. They have a #800 i just don't know it off hand. They specialize in this kind of thing being in the business of building great 4x4s of many different makes and models and combinations of all. I talked to them about mating a 4500 to a 292 last year and they gave me a few options, based on overall length and what version of trans to be used and all that. very helpful people.
