I believe 67-72 Darts, Barracudas, Cudas, and so on.
Do you want an 8 & 3/4 rear end ?

Not sure Hank, what do you recomend?? the car is up north (belong's to my younger brother)in Cayucos, I have not seen it yet, but it is just a plain 3 on the tree slant six Dart. The housing is bad too, so we would like to locate a complete unit (used) that we can just bolt in. It's just a stock cruiser and will never see any real HP.

Hi Dan.
The 8-3/4 rears were used in the HP cars and are getting hard to find and usually expensive when you do. If you can find any A body from 1963-72 the rears are a bolt in.
Your other choices are the 7-1/4 and the 9-1/4. Avoid the '73 and later unless your planning a big bolt conversion.

Thanks Strummin67, I don't know my Mopar's very well. Hank mentioned Cudas and Barracuda's, I am guessing the Duster's and Swinger's and Scamp's are A-body's? What about the Polara? Any other's?

The Polara is too big, will not fit, that is a "B" or "C" body?

Dan. The A bodies are:
1963-76 Darts, Valiants.
1964-69 Barracudas
1970-76 Dusters
1971-76 Demon/Dart Sports
1964-71 Dodge A-100/108s might work. You might have to modify something.
Polaras, Monacos and Furys are C bodies and unfortunately would be too wide.

What engine and tranny combo do you have in your Dart?

The engine is a slant six and the trans is a three speed manual (column shifter).

These were all 5. Unlike Fords and Chevys there was no difference between the 6 and 8 cylinder. What did change was the bolt circle. A bodies till '73 used the "small" 4 inch bolt circle while the B and C bodies used the large 4-1/2 inch.

Diesel Dan: An 8 1/4 out of a f body can be used if you don't mind the big bolt pattern, an the rear is less than 2" wider. I used one till I got a 10" brake 7 1/4 for my 64 dart.
