If you have access to an exhaust gas analyzer, it would be a big help in setting it up. If you have the manual that comes with the carb, it has good instructions on tuning. If not, it is availbale on their website.

Also, buy the Edelbrock tuning kit for the carb. It makes tuning easy as the parts you need will be right at hand. Between the cam and propane pistons there was no problem with running rich on that 292. Anything from 65 up here, not totally stock and running a Classic plate, must go through smog tests and it passed very easily.
