Dude, with a 300 hp 300" six, forget about the three speed; put a World Class T5 gear box in there. You can run a 3.50 or 3.73:1 rear end to take advantage of that low end torque for take-off, and still cruise the interstate at moderate rpm's with an effective O.D. gear of 2.60 to 3.00:1, depending on ratios, tire size, etc. Bell housings are no problem, just use all Ford stock parts.
