I can't answer your questions, but if I were in your shoes I'd ask that gentleman over to your place when you get started on the motor build. Knowledge from someone like him is fast disappearing and who knows what he can impart to you as his memory is rekindled as the build progresses.You are pretty darn lucky to have his availability now.
