The single piece windshields that I have seen used to replace a two piece windshield (that originally had 2 pieces of glass with a 'post' in the center) had the requisite sharp bend only within about an inch of the edge of the glass, the curve on towards the center of the glass (where you would actually look when driving) was much gentler. There was a(very)slight distortion in the transition between the two different bend radii. I wouldn't think it would ever be a problem, unless you think that one exact spot on the hood is going to have problems, or you spot aircraft from your ride for a living.
