OK, here's another question. I've been looking at various types and brands of dampers for SBC's, and most of them don't have grooves in the damper to line up with the belts for the 194-292 engines, so what's the answer to that? Spacers? Different pulleys? Black magic?
I also checked the Fluidampr website, since I've been thinking about using one of those, and they do make one for late Chevy sixes. Has anyone out there ever used one of them, and if you have, how well did it work?
