Unlike the bolt on oil filter adapter for Chevy small blocks, The oil filter pressure relief (spring+fiber disc) on the 292 looks like it is pressed in to the casting. Can these be removed without destruction? Can you get replacements through chevy or aftermarket? My fiber disc is worn and easily pops out of the holder.

I pull them out and plug it solid with a 15/16 soft plug. ( measure it)
There is a stop machined into the block. All oil will be filtered at all times. Tom

Yeah, thats the best way. Or tap it if the block isn't final washed yet.
