I recently learned that Scott Marshall,CNC-Dude, is getting ready to publish his first manual on enhancing 235-261 performance. This first manual in a series will cover the prep of GMC rods to fit the 235-261 engines. I know lately most of you like the later versions of inlines, but I'm still stuck in the '50s. So if interested in obtaining a copy,PM Scott through this site or http://www.hotrodinlines.com

I sent Scott 2 GMC rods to modify for the Chevy engines. I'm glad to see someone publish a manual with pictures. When I started my GMC project I was completely in the dark and had to feel my way along. Without the help of the guys on Inliners I'm sure I'd still be groping around in the dark.

Scott is looking for a stock 261 rod for comparisons, photos and measurements. I'm looking but if you have one please contact him. Beater

Scott,
I may be able to furnish you a couple of 261cid rods. I'll have to dig through the shop and talk to a guy we built a 261 for. The engine ended up being a 283cid so I'm sure he used aftermarket rods.

I've got a couple of sets of 261 rods - freight may be an issue though.

Scott, It turns out the 261 rods aren't around the shop. I'll keep looking.
I weighed the stock 302 GMC piston and pin. Piston: 917.4 grams. Pin: 219.4 grams. Total: 1136.8 total. (2 pounds,8.1 ounces)
No wonder the stock engine didn't like high rpm.

I'd also love to see a current book on these series of motors, along with some resources like a list of manufacturers that currently support these motors. I'm young, but I've always dug the stovebolts.

But the picture is not the one you'll get. "The photo is representative and is not specific to any particular listing". "Press fit bushing."
