Even better - they went over 200 mph 4 times and didn’t hurt the motor.

The magic to make it happen is the 4200 head... 340CFM intake @ 28" water

240/250 CFM (depends on which head was flowed and the work done)@28" water

Is the is that 340cfm intake and 240/250cfm exhaust? What lift is that flow happening at?

I'm not arguing with you by asking this. I'm just curious.

Zeke,

Your right - forgot to mention the 240/250 is on the exhaust side..

flows take at 0.500" lift << that about all you can safely get out of the geometry. Some racers go more but they only run 1/4 mile at a time and run on the ragged edge...

Were those numbers generated with port work or stock porting?

Those numbers, ported or unported, are amazing.

Zeke,

These are ported numbers. The intake requires little work. The exhaust needs 2-3 hours per port depending on which head you start with.

Just curious as to what is needed to get 340 CFM?

Bigger valves, how much porting & at this point are the intake ports really thin?

Thanks

Intake 1 mm bigger valves and take out maybe 0.05" wall material out of the intake port. Remember that each 4200 intake port is 90 to 95% the size of the combined intake port on the 250.... so its already generous.
