I bought the engine a number of years ago and have always considered it a 250. A fellow inliner needs a 250 crankshaft but before tearing out the crank I really want to find out what which one it is; preferably without removing the head to measure the stroke. Here's what I know

1- the block number is 3921968, a 230 / 250 block
2- the number stamped on the plate next to the distributor is F0607CP. I found a list of Nova build information where the last two stamped letters started with a C and have a second letter, but not CP; all of them are listed as 250s. (If there is a comprehensive list of build code information out there please let me know and I'll post it somewhere for everyone)
3- the date code for the block and the head is F 2 7 (1967 or 1977)
4- the head number is 3895054. Leo Santucci's power manual, page 17, lists a 250 head serial number 3895052 and does not list a 3895054 head.

I spent a couple hours looking online without any luck; if anyone knows where to go (to find out) or the answer all help will be appreciated.

Thanks,

Ted
