Has anyone seen/fabricated a bracket to mount the alternator on the passenger side of the engine? I'm trying to make room for my turbo in my Chevy II. The car still has the original front sheetmetal.

I havn't seen one. I think the only way to do it would be to mount it up high where the AC pump would be. I think if you tried to mount it down low the water pump hose would be in the way.

Plus the distributor would be a PITA to get around.

Seems its a bit of flat-stock work up top:

No details about the mounting flange at the base of the alternator - looks like it's attached to the of the timing house.

As gbauer points you will have to work around the coolant hoses . . .

There is a high mount driver side bracket which mounts a compressor low on the driver side in the alternator spot..I've thought of this for my Chevy2... Any pics of your mock up...the bracket is a vintage air piece...

Thanks guys! I decided against it, and decided to run an intercooler. Doing that, it should free up some space for the intake piping.
