Last night me and boss-lady was at a cruise-night in a small town a 20 minute drive from home and took a couple of pic's on this little Opel Kadett 1967,so now I tought I should share them with You guys... These cars came with a 1100 cc engine but this one has a 2.3 liter Volvo 16 valve and a Garret GT47 turbo and set up with a 30 psi boost it dynoed to 790 HP at the wheels, it's a 8 second car that now and then can be seen crusing around town.
And check out the size (or maybe lack of size) compare it with the Beetle in the background on the last picture, these things are small...

Nice looking ride.
Kinda looks like the Chevy Opalas in Brazil?
Douglas said his car weighs 2200 LBS w/a 250 CI inline.
Got anymore pics?

Sorry no more pics, took these just before he went out for another spin around town.

I'm not so good on weght in LBS but in kilograms this one weighs in on around 750-800 kg with a full cage and all steel body.
I think that is aprox 1600-1800 lbs or something like that.

And yes they look a bit like the Opala ,only smaller (If You compare it with a Chevy Vega You'll find that the Vega is a big car beside the Kadett...)

Enclosing a pic of the Opalas forefather they where made by the German GM-company Opel just as that little yellow Kadett and in the same time-span,they first came in 1967 and was built in many shapes ,it was the Rekord 1.9 liter 4 cyl 88 hp and the Commodore that had a 2.5 liter inline 6 at 115 hp.But they also came in different carb.-setups:Rekord Sprint had dual 2 port Webers and a bit more power and there was also a dual-carb Commodore

The Commodore came in 2 versions :4D sedan and 2D coupe,Rekord came as a 2D and 4D sedan 2D coupe and 2 or 4D Stationwagon.

Opel built them between 1967 to 1971 with that body-style,then they lived on in to the early 80's but no hardtop coupe only 4D.

The car on the pic is a 68 thats almost stock beside the wheels.

Funny thing You mentioned Bumblebee, there was a race-car here in Sweden in the 80's that had that name, but not those coulors...
It's a OT car on this forum but I'll post 2 pic's anyways just because it's a fun car and I suppose it took a real man to launch it with it's 730 hp Hemi and go 8.99 on the quartermile

And then I will sit here waiting to be banned from here for all eternity...

Or delete the post and let me stay,pleeeeeease...

Anyone recognise the lady on the first photo???

The "bumblebee" body shell appears to be a '58-'60 Morris Minor. Judging from the placement of that Hemi intake, we may doubt that there is much else left of the Morris, which merely donated the body.

God's Peace to you.
