This spring I might spring for EFI. I've been looking at FiTech's new system and the reviews have been very positive.

Also: http://fitechefi.com/default.asp.pg-GoEFISystemFuelPumpKit

It looks like all in I'd be around $1,300 if I get their GoEFI 4 600hp system (I've read that's conservative. Good up to about 750hp) and their fuel delivery kit. I can also get a new sending unit with return for $40. That puts me right around $1300 total for everything.

I considered the fuel command center but it would just add one more thing that I don't really need. The inline pump and return sending unit in the tank would accomplish the same thing and take a little, tiny bit of load off my engine for the mechanical fuel pump.

Looks like a really clean way of doing it.

This is the oldest review I could find: http://www.corvetteforum.com/forums/c3-tech-performance/3670852-fitech-go-efi-review.html

Some articles:

This is their EFI system for running boost: http://fitechefi.com/default.asp.pg-GoEFIPowerAdder

It adds $200 but has a whole bunch of goodies built in. I might end up going with this instead.

Thoughts?

So not to high-jack the other thread.

I think you'd find this thread interesting. The guy is pretty happy with it after some minor hiccups with the unit and unrelated with his engine.

My concern with the unit is that the ECU is attached to the throttle body. Heat soak may be an issue given the close proximity of the exhaust manifold. Just an observation on my part.

I am going with the Holley Terminator system on my car. I will report back once it is up and running.

The guy who did it on the Camaro forums loves his. He said he was also concerned about heat but FiTech engineers assured him it's designed to take it. The carb is far enough away from the headers that I doubt you'll get it as hot as any other engine. If it did get that hot you'd boil away the gas in the float bowls!

I wonder if there's room to get it on the intake without having to turn it 90 deg and resorting to bell cranks and Rube Goldberg for the throttle linkage.

It mounds the same as any other 4bbl. You can always modify the carb base adapter, though, to turn the whole assembly 90 degrees.

It also depends on which intake you use. I think the Offy intake has an adapter that turns the carb in a different orientation than a Clifford intake. So if you choose the right intake to start with, it can eliminate this problem, or you may have to make your own adapter to compensate for it.

I think both Clifford and Offy do the funky sideways stuff.

Some day I'll take my intake plate to work and drill new holes so I can straighten it out.

New one out. Only good up to 400 hp but the price is significantly less. There's also a $75 rebate on Jegs here:

http://www.jegs.com/rebates/fitech/rebate.pdf

So for under $800 + fuel pump + return lines you can have a self-learning EFI package.
