An easy way would be to install a small 12 volt motor and drive the stock water pump with a belt.

I know what you are taking about the mr gasket type of motor. they have gone the way of the dodo up her due to not being reliable. Id even look at a better quality motor to run the water pump

A number of years ago now, I ran a small type boat bilge pump for that purpose on a super comp altered.

You'll still have to drain the hot water between rounds and refill and circulate fresh cool water to get any cooling. Just circulating 200° water won't cool anything.

I now use Teel brand pumps on my cars. I used to use Jabsco but Teel is cheaper and performs equally well. I plumb it into a Sirrocco-type radiator with a pusher fan. I have the pump and fan wired into a switch so I can drive it around without cooling to put heat into the engine. When I go to the line I try to be at 160*. Run with the fan / pump on. At the end of a run it gets to about 180 - 190, around 200 by the time I pick up my time slip and return to my pit space. I can then run the fan / pump to cool down the car for the next round in about 15 - 20 minutes, depending on the ambient.
I also run a Powerglide trans cooler with a bilge / NASCAR style brake duct fan connected to an inline fluid sensor that turns on the fan at 155* fluid temp. I also have a manual override switch to bypass the thermostatic switch for late round round-robin racing.

PM me if you want some additional tricks / tips to cool and protect the engine.

One additional recommendation: Run an alternator. An alternator putting out 10 amps at 14 volts is 140 watts. One horsepower is 746 watts. Small price to pay to keep everything up to max V.
