raceitch, There is AACA of South Jersey flea market this Sunday at the Salem County Fairgrounds on Rt.40 just below Cowtown Rodeo in Woodstown, NJ. You can reach Rt.40 from the NJ Turnpike or Rt.295. You might find something there. It starts around 7am and runs to 3-4pm.It's well attended although not as large as the one in Sept. While there are "commercial" dealers there are plenty just cleaning out there garage and cellar. I always find something even if I don't need it !

raceitch Is there a reason you are looking for a 230 short block? The 250 blocks are the same as 230s. If You have a 230 crank and are in need of a block It maybe easier for you to find a 250. Hope this helps }[ooooooo]

tanks for the info on the swapmeet sundat catdog. I'll be there early. twisted6, i,m restoring a 64 chevelle convert. the block I have a 230 has 3 cracks. I figured just for restoration purposes I could find a block with casting numbers compatible with what I have. But a 250 would work also.

Well Tha casting numbers have been known to go both ways(230/250) And The only way to tell them apart then Is to look at the Head of the piston. So it is easy to make a 230 out of a 250 Just use all the 230 parts crank rods pistons. But whenUseing the crank from the 230 (well this goes for any motor Not useing the stock Crank from which it came) it is a good idea to have the Crank Line bore Checked TO make sure the crank spins freely. Hope this helps }[oooooo]

Thanks for the advice and information twisted6. Finding a useable block is starting to be somewhat of a challenge. Catdog; I just got home from the salem county fairgrounds. Having never attended this particular show before I was amazed at the turnout. And the fall show is "larger". Can't wait for the fall show. I got there at 8 when I left at 10:30 there was quite a backup on rte.40.

raceitch, I didn't think you would have made it that early or would have tried to meet you. I got there at 7 and yes it was crowded! Left at 9:30 and it took a while to get out on Rt.40. I had pre-orderd some stuff from a friend from DE, so I spent time scrounging, but didn't come up with much. Saw some good carb rebuilds and early Chevy truck stuff in great condition, but only a couple of 6 cyl heads. Did you check out the 39 GMC 1/2 ton in the field? All original and low miles and in excellent shape. $12,500. Whew !!

Catdog; Saw the truck and also the crosley on the trailer. I made a beeline for that peach painted 64 chevelle. They were asking 3800.00 for that one I'm sorry I didn,t get there earlier, Missed some deals on rims and tire combos. Have they scheduled a fall show date yet? thanks, rich
