I have built my own intake and am using three Carter side draft carbs. Typically Chev 235/261 blocks use a pull down method to actuate the carbs. I want to use a throttle cable. Has anyone done this conversion or know of a kit that will operate these or any Rochester carb with a throttle cable?
Thank you

I'm just planning ahead. Right now the carbs are apart in the rebuild stage. When they are back together and mounted, if I haven't come up with a solution, I will post pictures. Regardless, it is a pretty unique setup on my Altered and I will post pictures when completed. Unfortunately, I have just been called away on business until September, but will get back at it as soon as I get home.

Might be a dumb question, but is it much different than side draft Weber or SU setups?
Maybe check here:

The bits joining the 3 carburetor levers are all the same length and parallel, attaching at the same points on the carburetor.
Any one of them can have a 90 degree bell crank attached, so the their horizontal motion is converted to vertical where the cable picks if up.
No angle, no math, no ratios.

Panic
That's what I am thinking. I was hoping somebody made a nice kit that precluded having to go find/build all the pieces. I have the levers off the carbs as well as the rod to connect the levers, just need a nice bell crank and rod assembly to connect.

I will talk to Pierce, haven't talked to them in years. They do have a nice bell crank, will see if it can be used.
Thanks guys

If the bell's levers have several link holes, you can change the pedal-to-carburetor ratio to make sure you get full throttle.
You can even make response progressive with the first inch of travel very conservative for easier street driving, and greater flow per inch as travel increases.

This setup is for my 261 powered 32 Bantam Altered, so I am not concerned with street drivability. I googled bell cranks today and saw many variations, I do like the unit with progressive holes for getting the correct ratio.

How big are the carburetors (throttle disc, venturi, flange pattern)?
Your estimated peak power RPM?
