Hi All,

Why does the Jaguar XK engine have such a beautiful exhaust note? Is it just the exhaust configuration? Is it the design of the DOHC cross flow head? Is it the under square engine design? Is it a combination of all 3 or some combination thereof? Is it something else?

That being written, can the 250's exhaust be configured/tuned in such a way to emulate a similar sound? If so, how? If not, why not?

All of the GM inlines I have heard have a completely different exhaust note.

Regards,
Rick

My guess: most of it is the exhaust system, but even duplicating that the siamese exhaust ports discharge into the primaries quite differently than a 12 port engine.

I like the 2 pipe from engine to merge under you and go to single muffler and single tailpipe. Use a quiet muffler and it will be louder than you want.
