hey, I have a 63 ss nova with a 250 and was researching ways to hop it up, when I read one of the threads about a blower on a six, is this for real how would you build a 250 w/one and the big question how much money are we talking, I wont ask if it is worth it because it would be different and the cool factor would deffinately be worth it.

have you seen Leo Santucci's book, he has a small chapter on blowers. They are mainly roots blowers mounted directly on the intake manifold.

Centrifugal blowers should be pretty simple to install because they are placed wherever is more convienient and then plumbing is made to take the air from ths blower to the intake manifold.

there is no reason why you couldn't do this with a roots type blower either, and if you like you can have the air go through an intercooler as well.

Look at how one guy put a roots blower on a ford 300 (scroll down to middle of page):

It looks like an eaton M90 (available in ebay from $150 to $500) in a draw through setup

intersting huh?

If you are going to do any kind "acceleration runs" or put any kind of sticky tire on your Chevy II go for as a minimum an 8.2 out of a 64-67.
A set of axles in it would not hurt; it does not take too much to break 40 year old shafts. It would probably be a good time to put on front disks or at least a five bolt conversion for the front also.
