I have recently purchased a 69' chevy with a 292. I have never had a a six and am new to the wrenching game. Could anyone point me were to get info on rebuilding this motor to stock or if there should be upgrades done? I also have a 700r4 tranny. Will this work with this motor? My goal is to build a good dependable and economical daily driver. I would be gratefull for any info , THANKS!!!!!

I am 3/4 done the install you are talking about in my 65 1/2 ton. Trans to engine is a bolt on...sbc flexplate fits, but you will have to relocate the trans mount, shorten the driveshaft, and come up with a good linkage to the TV cable (MOST IMPORTANT).I'm looking forward to that extra gear on the highway.lol,Tom
