local auction coming up and theres a 1982 chevy pick with a straight six Iam assuming its a 250 what years did they use the dreaded one piece head. Thanks for your help.

if the price is right, get it! you can install an older head, with bolt-on manifolds, later. (as long as you don't have to have it original for state emission regs)

1976 was the first year of integral intake on the 250 chevy.
(good god I know something mechanical)!!

If you decide that you want to replace the one piece head, let me know as I have an extra pre-integral head that I will part with for a very reasonable price.

Thanks for the info, and will keep the offer in mind if I win at the auction. Not planning on bidding to high since the motors seem to be easy to come by.
