Cool Deal!!! yeah with all the extra work for a bigger manifold you might as well take advantage of it. Also, thanks for the heads up on the clearance issue.

The opening in the manifold is 2" (3 bolt) and there's a 1/4" lip around it for the 'donut' gasket. Then a 2 1/2" pipe directs the exhaust to the muffler.

Some 292s had a 2 bolt one which is the same as a passenger car.

Thanks for the clarification on the exhaust manifold. I'm looking forward to getting this all worked out and installed on the engine. Hopefully, I can get it all done in the next couple of months. I get deployed again in March, and won't be able to mess with it again for awhile.
