Hello, I have a bone stock never rebuilt 250 inline chevy. its in a 1976 nova. yeah, with the p.o.s. integral head. anyway. I just got my income tax check back and I have about 100 bucks to play with. my wifes the "family accountant". i saw on summit.com an adapter to use a holley 350/500 cfm 2 barrel on the stock chevy 6 intake. I have a rebuildable core that i picked up at a garage sale that looks just like the holley 2bbl, however it is made by carter. anyway, as is, the nova cannot make enough power to get out of its own way. would swapping to this carb make any noticable difference? Thanks.

the only current modification is exhaust. I have a 20 inch glasspack behind the stock cat with stock diameter tubing. it exits in front of the rear passenger side wheel. mandrel bent (no kinks). my wife had it done for our first aniversary as a present. anyway, I'll have to change the aircleaner any way you look at it because the flange on the 1 barrel is 2 5/16" as oppose to the 2 barrel which is whatever a standard 4 barrel is. should my exhaust and a 14 x 2 inch open element filter be enough to notice a difference?
