How well would a Wayne head do on a regular, street driven car?

Does a Wayne head require side draft carbs, or will a regular 235/261 intake work?

Will a Wayne head work with a "Caddy" converted 261?

Are Wayne heads available again? I see they offer 261 and GMC heads on their website, but back in Oct 06 someone posted that the company had quit production again.

That head will work on the street or strip and only uses manifolds made (just) for it.

These (intake) have side or downdraft carbs. The early FI units will fit (head) too. There are cast exhaust headers & plates/pipe for those that want the 'tube' ones etc.

It will work on a 'Cadillac 6' with flat top pistons or with ones made for the Wayne head.

Check with them on production info.

Good luck. \:\)

Gentlemen;

The Wayne Mfg. Co. NEVER cheated anyone!!

There was a period when they were unable to fill orders. The monies involved were all refunded.

They are NOT bankrupt.

The three men involved couldn't agree on how to resolve the above problems and stopped the Mfg process. Whoever took the orders refunded the money and thats where it stayed.

It's rumored that dozens of castings are made and there in storage somewhere awaiting some 'final' machine work etc. It's also rumored that all three of the people invoved are very "well off" and can't agree who puts up the money to finish it all.

Who knows, really. \:\)

It seems like it would be in their best interest to set the record straight by posting an explanation/statement on their website. As it sits now, they are still "advertising" on tehir website for a company that is no longer active or selling the products they advertise. Bad news/rumors stick and last longer than good rumors.

BTW, I was just reading the History of the original Wayne Mfg on their website and it sounds like the Original company went down in flames in much the same way as the current one.

I agree, there should be at least a brief note on the website or no contact info.
The website looks like a running business...

Last year I tried to buy a McGurk intake, but the email was and still is shut down and nobody replies to friendly phone order requests either. \:\(
Well, I found an original McGurk intake in the meantime and can't imagine ordering anything from them in the future, with all I read about that company on this forum in the past.

Good to hear the owners are well off - that explains a lot about how they run their business. \:D
Big ideas and sitting on plenty of capital are never a guarantee for a successful business venture.
Hope a passionate enough guy with fewer profit concerns will take over one day.

Nick Zaillian and his collaborators undertook an ambitious program and spent a lot of money promoting it. Perhaps they should have spent less on promotion and more on production. i have heard that Jerry Weigt and others put in a lot of hard labor on the project. It is terribly sad that they have been unable to fulfill the promises they made. We should hope that they will be able to resolve their difficulties and produce what they promised. Some of us would go into (more) debt to buy some of it. Yet this is a project that will likely consume all of the capital and hard work that anyone could put into it.

Before he died Jack Halton had his hands on a beautifully machined "Wayne" head for a 261 that these people had made. Does anyone know what happened to that piece?

Wayne Manufacturing had supposedly purchased all of the Arias inventory of heads and related parts for the GMC, as well as the tooling. What has happened to those pieces?

God's Peace to you.

Gentlemen;

I think we all should assume that they are trying to resolve the issues mentioned and that's why the Website is 'on line'.

They all spent several hundred thousand to create an historic product with a small market.

Let's have patience please. \:\)

I called wayne about 5 months ago and left a message, they called back about 30 minutes later and were real nice, he talked to me for 25-30 minutes, said a 261 with their head would make at least 1 hp per cubic inch, but 300 hp is easy to acheive, he took my address but I never got the catalog, he also told me that he just sold a 302 head to a guy here in my town of redding, ca. but he told me that they were open for business, happy hunting!
