Anybody have a "how to" explanation or pictures to build and install a water heat plate for my Offy manifold with Holley 390 4v on my late Chevy six?

Tom Langdon sells a plate for the offeys. There has also been a topic on this sometime back.

Hi James. Here's a pic of mine in use. \:D
I bought it from Tom Langdon for $30. The yellow stuff is solidified coolant. No leaks.

How did you tie those hoses into the rest of the cooling system?

Hi Kyull67.
It came down to moving a few things around. My thermostat housing has a port on the driver's side. I moved the upper heater hose to the driver's side, routed it to the heat plate then back out behind the block to the heater core again. It's not the neatest job and I will address it again at some point. Right now I'm having too much fun driving it to take it off of the road just yet. \:D

I copied this from a previous post.
Here is what I did. http://rides.webshots.com/photo/1434885210071636143YxpyLG
I used a water pump and bypass thermo housing from a 261. I bought 5/16 brake lines and fittings from NAPA and bent them with a $10. tubing bender. Used my neighbors flaring kit for the fittings. The heat plate for the bottom of the intake started out as a 4" X 5" 5/16" thick flat bar that I shaped with a hack saw and a grinding wheel. As you can see, the lines run between the headers and the block. Of course, my motor is a 235. May not be applicable for you - but can give you ideas?

Bought the Heat PLate from Langdon's and I guess I thought it was hollow.

Maybe the Langdon kit was missing something to complete this?

Should I have received more than just the plate from Langdon's?
