Inliners International Forums General Discussion Drive Train Which tranny should I use?

I am getting ready to install my fresh 250 I6 into my 67 C-10. It is .030 over with 268 comp-cam, and clifford headers and heated intake. It orginally had a 4spd in it, but I have the parts to go with a 350th auto. It also has 3.08 gears. What do you guys think? I'm sitting on the fence and don't know which way to go. Thanks, Todd

I would go with an overdrive trans.
Like a 2004r ,or a 700r4.

An 'overdrive' trans is the best choice, as mentioned. The 3:08 is to "tall" for one though.
You just need to decide if you want a stick/auto is all.

A "stick shift" truck is probably faster to sell and the clutch linkage is already there.

i was also considering using a 700r on my motor do they sell an adapter or how would i go about that?

Remember there are short and long TH350's.

i belevie mine is a 235 so i will need an adapter right?
