Hello Guys,

I'm planning to put a Th700R4 behind my stock 250 Cui six. This al goes in my 82' Chevy Van G10. Its a six with a one barrel carb.
I found a good working Th700R4 in a 88' Van, so i've got al the right parts.... almost,

I've got one issue: the TV cable. The original cable from the tranny is to short. I need a longer one, where can i find these? The carb of the six lies further away to the front than the v8 carb, where the tranny came from.

And what can i use for the lock-up converter to make it work properly?

thanx in advance \:\)

Marcel.

Marcel,

Hot Rod and Super Chevy magazines had some great articles on turbo 700-R4s and 200-4Rs a few years ago. They were very specific about the lock-up converter and TV cable adjustments.

You might contact LOKAR at

http://www.lokarmotorsports.com/products.html

They are very good at helping you solve problems like yours. Their products aren't cheap, but they're very good.....from my experience, that is.

Lord, let me live long enough to do all the projects I have planned!

thanx guys,

in holland we don't have salvage/junkyards. \:\(
I've asked a few dealers and some parthouses but they don't have the right cable.
i also looked by summit, but no results for a tv cable. For the lock-up converter i found some kits to use, but witch one??

Bowtie overdrive's is a great site, but don't have the right stuff for my carb (1ME rochester).

I going to try to use my old kickdown cable (th350c) and make it fit to the th700 \:\)
I don't no if its going to work but i give it a try.

thanx again.

Sorry to revive an old thread.

I believe the Tuned Port V8 Camaro's, Firebirds, and Corvettes had the longest available tv cable for the 700 trans, as the throttle body was mounted at the very front of the intake.

How about the B&M Part #B3230287?
It a universal (aka cut to fit) TV cable.
It shoud be available from Summit, Jegs, or any B&M dealer.

regards,
Leon

Chucky, you may have to fabricate something for it to work on your carb. Here's a picture of what I did with my old 230 engine. A little creativity can go a long way. I too had a cable issue, but I took the old cable to the parts stores with me and had them pull every cable out to compare till I got the right one. I'm still using it on my 292 now, but I plan on changing out to the Lokar. I've used that setup for three years with no issues. Hope this helps.
