If i am right this will bolt right on to my gm 250 straight six through any chevy bell housing with out any altercations right??
So all I need is to find a tranny and gm bell housing right?
What are the tag identification codes for 1983-1987 T-5 with 3.76 as first gear ?
No- it will NOT bolt right up! You will either have to make a special adaptor plate to put between the bellhousing and the trans or cut about 1/4" off the input shaft, you'll also have to modify the splines most likely and extend them farther back to allow the clutch disk to work properly, or find a special clutch disk which may or may not be possible.
I used a V8 Camaro T-5 and it's virtually a bolt up. In fact mine was. Normally one must enlarge the 4 mounting holes to 1/2" but I had forgotten this part in my haste and it bolted up very nice and snug. Then just shorten your driveshaft and away you go! You'll have much better gearing and it's soooooooooo much easier. I know, I made the mistake of getting an S-10 trans and discovered how much of a pain they are to make work properly. It can be done- it's obviously just easier with the Camaro trans. I hope this helps.
