Hi, does anyone know if there are six cylinder engine models made for an inline engine? I see there are 327 Chevy's, 426 Hemi's, big block Chevy's etc. They are in a nice plastic display case.
Thanks!

Ages ago Revell or Renwall made a 1/6 scale model of the Chrysler Slant Six. I think they called it the Visible Slant Six, as it had a clear plastic engine block and valve cover so you could see all the parts moving when you turned on the motor that was hidden in the starter.

Long since out of production but you can still find one every so often on Ebay or at specialty hobby shops that buy and sell old model kit collections.

It would be nice to have a selection of GMC's, Chevy's, Ford's, etc like what they offer today in the V8 models but demand is most likely not there except for us Inliners.

The 1/25 scale model car world has a number of kits with inline sixes currently available. Although fairly small in size you could build the engine and not install it in the car. Most are 30's 40's and 50's Chevys and some come with at least a dual carb intake and basic split headers.
Galaxie Ltd currently offers both a 46-48 Chevy Aero Sedan and a 46-48 Chevy Sedan Delivery that include an extensively detailed 216 with optional Wayne valve and side covers, Fenton headers, and a 3 carb intake. The models run about $38 each.

I've built the Aero Sedan and put all the vintage speed equipment on it and I can tell you it is fantastic but not a kit for a beginner.

Hmmm... I'll have to hit my Great Planes Catalog and see how many plastic model kits have L6's in them. I remember seeing a few and most were Fords. If I can find some I'll post Manufacturer and Kit Number so you can hit your local hobby store and check them out. If you can't find them locally, I do ship UPS anywhere, but I'd rather you support your local store first...

There are a lot of 1/25th inlines, but other than the slant six and the Monogram 1/8th scale XKE, I have not seen any other large ones.

Perry's Resin out of Canada sells 250 Chev and similar era Ford inlines.

Several AMT models have sixes, but like usual you need to buy the complete kit.

*bows to Bruce*
Thank You! Thank You! Thank You!

I'm gonna go get a 250 w/ PowerGlide and build a 1/25 '69 Camaro in the way I'd like to build my real car! \:D

If I blow $50 on a Engine w/ 'Glide, a Kit, Hop Up Parts, Glue and Paint I might not go stir crazy waiting for the time clean out the garage and start on the real project cars! \:\) (And at that price my wife can't bitch either...) \:D

Thanks! I gotta see if I can get some of those parts for my store...
